RUN THE ONE EARTH MAIL SERVICES
One Earth Mailer can run as a Windows NT or Windows 98/95 service
A service is a program that runs in the background. It is started automatically when the system starts and is stopped when the system shuts down. In Windows NT, the service can also be controlled by the logged in user via the NT control panel. The service runs independently of the logged in user, and continues to run after the user has logged out. In Windows 98/95, services are less sophisticated, but will also start automatically when the system starts and continue to run after a user has logged out. Most print spoolers, virus scanners and network drivers run as a service.

One Earth Mailer Service
• Runs in the background without a user interface. Control of the service is provided by the One Earth Mailer Remote Console.
• The Remote Console will connect to a One Earth Mailer service running on the same machine, even if the Remote Administration option is not licensed. (But you will need this feature licensed to connect to a One Earth Mailer server on a different machine, whether it is running as a service or not).
• If the server machine reboots (perhaps due to a power failure), the One Earth Mailer service will start automatically and resume mail & proxy server functions.
• Protects One Earth Mailer with NT security (or Windows 98 login), you do not have to leave the server logged in when it is unattended.
